Privacy, in plain English
We keep as little as a sheet needs, for as long as it lives, and then it goes. Nothing on a sheet tracks you.
Last changed October 17, 2026. This page can change. When a change matters, we say so here with the date it starts, and organizers we can still write to hear about it by email first. Small corrections just get made.
What we keep
IGotItSignup.com is operated by Load Bearing LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. That is who "we" means on this page.
- Accounts: everyone who claims a slot or makes a sheet has one. It holds your email addresses: a main one, where our email about your account goes, and any others you add, each confirmed by a link or a code we send to it. Any of them signs you in, so anyone who can read one of those inboxes can get into your account. There is no password, ever; signing in is a link or a code we email you. Once you make a sheet, the account also holds a time zone guessed from your first one, which sets when your sheets send and which day is today; Account shows and changes it. A sheet's optional code is kept only scrambled, so a lost one is replaced, never looked up.
- People who sign up: you claim signed in, so each claim carries one of your account's addresses, along with the name you type, what you claimed, and your answer if the organizer asked a question. Others see your first name and last initial; the organizer sees the rest, the address too. Only the account that holds an address lists its claims across sheets; an organizer sees only the claims on their own sheets.
- Payers: Stripe handles the card and sees your account's email, for the receipt and to check it's you on its billing page. We keep what you paid for, never the card.
- People who report a sheet: the reason you picked and anything you typed. We don't ask who you are.
- Everyone: to hold our limits on how often anything can be done, we count requests by network address, by account, and by an address typed into the form that makes a sheet.
Who else sees it
The site runs on Cloudflare's network, mail goes out through an email delivery provider, our support inbox sits with a mail host, and Stripe sees what it needs to take a payment. Beyond the providers that run IGotItSignup.com for us, no company sees an address: we don't sell, rent or share one. We can read what is stored here, and we open a sheet only when a report or its own organizer's question needs it.
How long
Sheets
A free sheet self-destructs 90 days after it was made or 30 days after its event, whichever is later, on a date its organizer can see from day one. A sheet on the $39/yr plan never self-destructs while it's paid for; when that stops, it goes on the free clock with at least 30 days. A sheet's organizer is warned two weeks before and again three days before, and gets an email linking its copy when it goes. Its names, claims, answers, edit links and addresses stay 30 days, counting the day it goes, and are then deleted; until then, an account on the $39/yr plan can bring the sheet back as it was, and a free sheet can be restarted from its copy. If something breaks and we lose track of a sheet, we can't email its organizer before it's deleted. The sheet is deleted on the day it would have been anyway, or within about eight months on the year plan.
Your account
Your account and its addresses stay until the account is deleted; one nobody ever confirmed goes once it is a week old and holds no sheet. Each sheet's link, owner and dates stay as long, so an old link can say the sheet is gone; its title, date and counts go with the sheet. An address you remove or change from leaves your account at once, but stays on the claims it made, and their sheets can still email it, until those sheets go. Each address an account asks to add is kept 90 days from the last time it asks, or until the account goes, to hold it to four different ones in that time. Removing it, or never confirming it, doesn't shorten that; a written request to support can. Confirming another account's main address can join that account into yours: its addresses and claims move to yours, and it closes.
Records about email
A few records about email outlive a sheet on purpose. An address that asked us never to write again stays on that list until it asks us to write again; an address whose spam report reaches us stays stopped for good. The sending log (an address, which kind of email, what it was about, and whether it went, never the words) is kept 90 days at most, and our mail provider keeps its own list of addresses that bounced or reported spam. Mail to and from support is kept a year from each message's date.
Smaller records
And a few smaller ones. What you typed in a report goes with the sheet; its reason, date and link stay for good, with no name. A note of when a sheet emailed its people is kept a year and a day, or until the account goes, to count a free account's events, with no names and no event date. Each address an unconfirmed account's sheet asked "was this you?" goes within a week of the account's last sheet being deleted, or with the account. Request counts for our limits go within three days. Stripe keeps its own payment record (if you gave up a year early, we ask Stripe to note that you chose to), and a renewal we asked Stripe to stop keeps its reference until Stripe confirms it stopped.
Deleting your account
How deleting works is in the terms. On the day it runs, every sheet the account owns is destroyed, printed date or not, along with your addresses, your sign-in links and our record of what you paid. A sheet due to go sooner still goes sooner. We send no copy, so export first. Nothing comes back. Two things of yours stay: your place on the list that stops our mail, if you're on it; and your claims on other people's sheets, with the address each carries, until those sheets go. Those sheets can still email you about them, each email with a link to stop. Deleting never adds you to that list. Stripe's record, a renewal still being stopped, and mail with support keep the times above.
If you sign up on a sheet
To claim, you sign in with a link or a code we email you. Once you claim, the sheet can write to the address on your claim: the reminder, if its organizer turned reminders on, with a link to change your claim; a note if the organizer removes your claim; and the organizer's messages, at most three per event. Each has a link that stops that sheet writing to that address. Nothing else. To stop every sheet writing to an address, write to us from it; we then stop all our email to it, sign-in links too, so it can't sign in, which signing up on a sheet takes, until it asks us to write again.
If a sheet names you as its organizer
If a sheet names your address as its organizer, we ask whether it was you: once, or up to three times on a resend, never more than three times in 90 days however many sheets name it. Until you answer, nobody else sees that sheet and we send nothing else about it. Once you accept, the sheet writes to you: a note when a slot is let go, which its settings can switch off, the warnings before it self-destructs, and the email when it ends. It's your sheet, so its mail stops when it ends or your account is deleted. If the address is no longer yours, write to us from it and we stop all email to it, except the paid year's two notices and our answer to you. Your sheets still self-destruct on schedule.
If you pay for a year
Unless you marked our mail as spam or it cannot be delivered, a paid year emails you when it starts and before it renews, even when we have stopped your other mail: the law requires both, and cancelling the renewal ends them. Word that a payment failed comes too, unless we have stopped mail to your address.
Requests made in your name
Anyone can write to us pretending to be you. So a request to stop or start your email brings at most one email to you, with a code and no link or sheet, and until the address is confirmed, no second one asking the same thing goes for 90 days.
What we never do
- No tracking on sheets. A sheet loads nothing from anyone but us. These front pages are counted with Cloudflare's cookieless analytics, which keeps no profile; sheets never are.
- No following you across sites, so a browser's Do Not Track signal has nothing to turn off, and we don't act on it.
- No search engines on sheets: a do-not-index tag, no directory, and links nobody can guess.
Cookies
Five kinds of ours at most, all needed for the site to work; most visits set one or two:
- which claims are yours, on this device
- that this device made a sheet, so it can manage it
- that you're signed in
- that you typed a locked sheet's code, one per locked sheet, so you type it once
- a code you were just shown, cleared within sixty seconds
None follows you elsewhere or holds a password, and only the last holds a code, for a minute at most. Cloudflare may add a bot-protection cookie of its own that belongs to no account and expires within the hour.
